Dr. Wael Azer was born and raised in Luxor, Egypt. After completion of rigorous scientific and medical training in Egypt, he moved with his family to New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Azer then continued his medical training by earning his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Westbury. He then went on to complete his residency training in Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Azer was awarded Chief Resident honors by his peers during his final year of training. He continues to be very active in medical education and health policy development.
Dr. Azer has a special interest in renal function and its affect on overall health. He has expertise in renal pathophysiology and has worked previously with patients suffering from various forms of renal disease.
When Dr. Azer is not working to take care of his patients, he enjoys traveling the world and experiencing other cultures.
